Cycling and walking campaigners are on the right track with their campaign for access across the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
The Getacross Campaign has come up with an option to sling a foot and cycle crossing under the main bridge and has support from Orewa-based Hopper Developments to develop a $16 million pathway over the bridge.
The concept, (right) is not finalised.
But it would be an attractive addition to Auckland's transport infrastructure.
It's cheap, can be funded by tolls and will provide a "bridge" across the Super City which is not dominated by motorists to the exclusion of others.
