New Zealand finance and human resources managers are more concerned about job-hopping than those in any other country, according to a survey from recruiter Robert Half Finance & Accounting.
Its survey found that 78 per cent of NZ managers felt their company would be concerned if a job candidate had held lots of jobs over a short period time, compared with other countries surveyed such as France, Australia and Britain with 33, 46 and 54 per cent respectively.
The company's Angela Cameron says the statistics are a reflection of Kiwis who held a number of contract roles while on their OE.
"I think that New Zealand employers will have to update their attitudes and accept that contracting is a global trend and that its not unreasonable for a full-time person to spend only two years in a job," she said.
"Employers should focus on what the employee has achieved rather than the number of roles they have held."
