A worker was crushed to death between two rollers at the New Zealand Steel mill in Glenbrook, southwest of Auckland this morning.
Inspector Gavin MacDonald of the police northern communications centre said the accident happened just after 9am today.
The 40-year-old man was crushed between two rollers and died at the scene.
Police and Occupational Safety and Health are investigating.
No further details were immediately available.
