KEY POINTS:
Ports of Auckland's general wharves on the Manukau and Waitemata Harbours will continue to operate during a 24-hour strike next month by Maritime Union of New Zealand members.
The port company yesterday said any strike action would involve around 265 union members, affecting container terminal stevedoring, road, rail, shuttle and engineering services.
Along with the general wharves the marine services division would also continue to operate.
On Monday, the union confirmed strike action for December 2 and 3.
The union wants an eight-hour stopwork meeting to work through outstanding issues with its employment agreement.
The port company offered two three-hour stopwork meetings.
