Former Mediaworks television boss Jason Paris is joining Telecom's senior management team.
Paris, who announced in June that he was stepping down from his role as chief executive of Mediaworks television after just one year, has been appointed chief marketing officer at Telecom where he will be responsible for driving retail revenue and retail marketing.
Sources said at the time that Paris had struggled to fit into Mediaworks, a company that operated on tight budgets.
Telecom Retail chief executive Alan Gourdie said Paris had extensive experience in strategy, technology, sales and marketing, through his work with leading brands including Nokia, McDonald's, TVNZ, TV3 and FOUR.
"I'm very pleased that Jason is joining Telecom at what will be a very exciting time in Telecom's history," said Gourdie.
