Strikes at rest homes and geriatric hospitals

Union staff from more than 20 rest homes and geriatric hospitals nationwide are on strike for six hours from 7am today, and plan a 24-hour strike for October 6.

Affected centres have made plans to ensure residents and patients are looked after.

Striking workers in the Auckland region will march to Aotea Square, converging at 11am.
