International hotel operator TFE is opening a 128-room Adina Apartment Hotel in Auckland and is looking for staff.
The company is taking over an existing apartment complex near Vector Arena and will open the new operation in October, in time for the summer high season.
Each of the new Adina-runproperty's apartments has a fully equipped kitchen, "with a real focus on comfort and lifestyle".
Facilities for meetings will include two conference rooms, one catering to 45 people in a theatre style and the other a boardroom for 12 people.
The chief executive of TFE Hotels, Rachel Argaman, said it was the first Adina Apartment Hotel property in New Zealand.
The company operates Rendezvous hotels in Auckland and Christchurch and the Travelodge in Wellington.
"The thriving Auckland market is a perfect fit for our premium-style apartments. Whether guests want to stay a night, weekend, or longer, they'll be able to comfortably make themselves at home at Adina," Argaman said.
"We're seeing a rising trend of bookings for apartment-style accommodation."
Last summer was one of the busiest in Auckland and on peak weekends there were no vacancies in the city.
Argaman said that in the lead up to the opening of the apartments, it would recruit staff locally as well as offer positions to its existing staff in other sites.
TFE is a joint venture between Toga Group and Far East Hospitality Holdings and has 70 properties throughout Australasia and Europe.
