Search4Jobs, an online job site that aims to be the premier employment site in New Zealand, was launched in Auckland last night by APN, the publisher of the Herald.
With a motto of Just What You Are Looking For, Search4Jobs is the first thrust of a push by APN into online classified advertising. It launches with 6000 jobs instantly online at search4jobs.co.nz.
Building off the extensive employment advertising in the Herald, the site also incorporates Netcheck, the popular service familiar to listeners of Newstalk ZB and other Radio Network stations.
APN chief executive Brendan Hopkins told 350 people at the Viaduct that the recruitment industry would ultimately need two things to secure the best candidates for its clients:
* A "best-of-breed" online solution to reach those actively seeking jobs.
* Quality print products to reach premium candidates not actively in the market.
"We must provide a first-class bundled service so that advertisers who need print and online exposure can obtain them seamlessly and efficiently," he said.
Search4Jobs, which is also accessible from nzherald.co.nz, will work closely with the recruitment industry.
