KEY POINTS:
Qantas executives are set to receive payouts of A$91 million ($103.2 million) if the takeover bid for the airline goes ahead.
They will receive the golden handshakes, including A$8 million for chief executive Geoff Dixon, even though they will go on to work in the same roles under the "new" airline, Australian newspapers were reporting today.
The payouts will also be made even though the executives have not met all the performance standards that are normally demanded.
Along with the A$91 million in payouts, they are also set to receive bonuses of up to 200 per cent of their cash salaries and a stake in the new company of up to 4.5 per cent.
But they will only receive the payments if the A$11.1 billion bid by Airline Partners Australia consortium is successful.
