Slingshot founding director Annette Presley is denying claims that she has stepped down from her executive role in the company.
CallPlus director Malcolm Dick and chief executive Martin Wylie released a statement this morning stating that Presley would be standing down from the executive "to pursue new opportunities".
But Presley, who is on holiday on a boat off the coast of Fiji, said she was "certainly not stepping down".
She is one of the country's highest profile businesswomen and is known as the "Internet Queen". She is currently appearing in TV One's Dragons' Den New Zealand.
Presley said: "I am still involved in the company, so I have no idea what this is about. I'm obviously agitated about the level of miscommunication that is happening."
Presley said she would not return to New Zealand and would continue to try and enjoy her holiday.
Callplus chief executive Martin Wylie said he thought Presley understood that she was exiting from her executive role.
"We announced something that we thought Annette understood and it is looking like she has not," he said.
Presley would still be included in company advertising and as a shareholder of the company but Wylie said he would take over the role of spokesperson of Slingshot.
