Latest figures on job ads show the number of situations vacant rebounded strongly in September.
The recovery was expected, as public holidays in December and January meant newspapers missed out on a couple of Saturday editions.
Compared with a year ago, the ANZ's Job Ad Index is up more than 13 per cent.
Chief economist John McDermott does not expect the trend to back off this year.
He says there is little to suggest labour market pressures are easing.
