A new jobs board featuring the country's top executive positions is now up and running on nzherald.co.nz.
Two weeks ago, Herald publisher APN News & Media switched its job listings from the search4jobs.co.nz website to Herald Jobs, which will become the company's joint online and newspaper careers brand.
Key appointments and executive positions are listed under the Top Jobs brand, and advertisements can appear within news sections of the website, giving advertisers access to online news browsers for the first time.
The site is aligned with the newspaper's classified sections, and linked to APN's regional news websites.
Nielsen figures for August rated search4jobs.co.nz as the third most-visited jobs website in New Zealand (after Seek and Trade Me Jobs), attracting 105,000 unique browsers.
Martin Simons, chief executive of APN New Zealand, said Herald Jobs would leverage the strength of the New Zealand Herald brand and audience nzherald.co.nz attracts 2.3 million visitors per month.
The site launched with 4000 job listings.
Simons said the company aimed to build it to become employers' first choice.
He said many of the best job candidates were people who were already employed and not actively looking for a career change.
By associating job advertisements with editorial content, the advertiser was able to reach these professionals who may not otherwise browse job websites.
