The manager of a major cleaning company has lost his job after allegedly acting inappropriately at a work Christmas party.
Jared O'Neill, the South Island general manager of OCS New Zealand, resigned following allegations made against him after the event.
The company confirmed a female employee was involved and that an investigation was ongoing.
"OCS takes any allegations of inappropriate behaviour extremely seriously and does not condone such behaviour," it said.
"As such, its internal investigation has been robust and thorough. Mr O'Neill has been working with OCS fully and openly on this investigation and has since resigned."
The woman involved had been offered counselling and leave, and OCS was having discussions with her.
"Obviously OCS is concerned that she has suffered any distress and is working through this with her."
It is understood O'Neill disputes the accuracy of the allegations.
He is being sought for comment.
