About half of TelstraClear's national call-centre staff will lose their jobs as the company prepares to outsource the work to the Philippines.
TelstraClear's decision to close its Kapiti Coast call centre in Paraparaumu, 48km north of Wellington, will mean 70 to 80 people will lose their jobs.
The company had previously said it was proposing to move all call-centre jobs overseas, but yesterday announced it would keep about half in Christchurch and move about half overseas.
