The latest index of internet job advertisements shows employment vacancies in Australia reached a record high last month, with more than 300,000 employment opportunities posted on the web.
The Olivier Group's internet Job Index found the education sector made the biggest jump, benefiting from an increase in advertised positions of 18 per cent.
Building and construction sector jobs continue to be strong, rising by 5 per cent.
Advertising and Media fell by the same amount.
But the Group's Graham Liu says employment is in those sectors is expected to bounce back in the new financial year.
"We've had about a 50 per cent increase since last year, because at this time last year we were wondering if job advertisements would top 250,000," he said.
"Now it's grown by almost half again.
"Clearly there is a lot of competition for employees out there."
