Amid lengthening recession and rising unemployment, the deciding factor for job candidates has become whether positions offer long term career opportunities, recruiter Hays says.
"Over the last year candidates have adjusted to the competition for jobs by becoming more realistic in their expectations of employers," Jason Walker, managing director of Hays in New Zealand, said.
The prime motivator for candidates had become security over salary, Walker said.
