Fewer New Zealand companies expect to hire workers in the first half of next year, adding to signs the labour market will slow, says a report from recruitment firm Hudson Highland Group.
About 43 per cent of 1191 companies expect to hire more workers in the six months ending June 30.
That is less than the 45 per cent who expected to hire workers in the six months ending December 31. The number of companies expecting to fire workers rose.
