Job advertisements fell for the second month in a row in October. The total number of newspaper and internet ads fell 2.5 per cent after a 4.1 per cent decline in September.
"On a regional basis, Canterbury fell the most, 6.4 per cent, but this was off a strong rise in September, whereas Auckland's 2.1 per cent drop compounded a 6.9 per cent drop the previous month," said economist Sharon Zollner at ANZ, which monitors the ads.
