There is speculation this afternoon that an injunction is to be issued to port workers in Tauranga and Wellington.
It follows strike action by wharfies who refused to unpack a ship carrying goods from Ports of Auckland that had been loaded by non-union staff.
A Rail and Maritime Transport Union spokesman says he's heard rumours papers could be served in the coming days to force the unpacking, but says he hasn't heard anything directly.
Port of Tauranga CEO Mark Cairns has confirmed the port has applied for an injunction, but is still waiting for a decision from the courts.
He is hoping that may come through this afternoon.
