More people would be out of work this year as a result of global economic cooling, and any serious slowdown could cause disruption and further raise unemployment, the International Labour Organisation said yesterday.
The ILO said the world unemployment rate would climb to 6.1 per cent this year from 6.0 per cent in 2007.
