KEY POINTS:
German employment hit its highest level since reunification in 1990 last month as an upswing in Europe's biggest economy drove down unemployment from a post-war high of more than five million.
Federal Statistics Office data published yesterday showed the number of people in work in Germany hit 39.346 million in February, the highest level since the two Germanys came together after the Berlin Wall collapsed.
German unemployment also fell more than expected in March to the lowest in almost six years.
