More than 1,800 workers at Ford's Victorian plants will return to work next week, after employees at a car parts supplier ended their strike.
The 240 employees of Venture Industries walked off the job last week, after the breakdown of negotiations over redundancy entitlements.
The strike halted production at Ford's Geelong and Broadmeadows plants, resulting in the loss of tens of millions of dollars.
Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) spokesman Dale Oliver says the Venture employees have decided to give the company seven days to address their concerns.
"As a result of their return to work, we're hopeful now that production lines could start firing up at Ford and we could a lot of the workers that have been stood down back to work," he said.
