KEY POINTS:
Fonterra is considering outsourcing jobs in its information services sector to India.
The company moved into a due diligence phase yesterday with a company called HCL, from India.
Fonterra chief information officer Greg James denied it was just a money-saving venture. He said it is a process they go through to make sure they are driving the most efficient company they can.
Mr James said it will be some months before they decide whether to go ahead with the outsourcing.
He said the number of people affected has not yet been determined, but Newstalk ZB understands it could be up to 130.
