The grass is not always greener on the other side of the Tasman.
Accountancy group Robert Half says one in four finance professionals this year have indicated they plan to move overseas.
But a survey of 2,500 finance workers in 13 countries has found that more than twice as many workers in New Zealand receive bonuses compared to Australian staff, and their employers provide professional development opportunities, pensions, health insurance and group insurance.
New Zealand employers offer more holidays, access to gyms, parking, lap top computers and mobile phone allowances.
Senior Consultant Kim Smith, says some of the differences are very important to New Zealand professionals. She says the survey shows that fast-tracked career progression is one of the most important factors in helping workers to decide between jobs.
