A new service has started up to assist school leavers with the countless questions facing them before they enter the work force.
Whr24u profiles students' individual characteristics, to match them with training opportunities for the right career.
"Many young people choose their career path with little or no information on where they are headed and without the motivation to find out for themselves", says the company. "For example, only 54 per cent of students who had started a tertiary qualification in 2002 had completed it or were still enrolled by 2006.
"There are eight universities, 20 polytechnics and several thousand private training institutions in New Zealand - so that's a lot of choices to make."
The firm says they're not trying to replace the work of school career guidance counsellors, but rather to offer a complementary service.
