KEY POINTS:
Debt collection agency workers in Auckland walked off the job this afternoon in protest at the company's latest pay offer.
About 100 staff at Baycorp went on strike at 2.30pm as part of rolling industrial action, which would continue until a new collective agreement had been reached, Unite Union national director Mike Treen said.
Mr Treen said the debt collection company's latest pay offer of between 1 and 3 per cent would see most employees going backwards.
"We want a 4 per cent pay rise -- that will match inflation and a little improvement."
