British trade union Unite has accused Cadbury Schweppes of behaving like an "asset-stripping private equity firm" after news the company will shed 700 jobs by outsourcing British chocolate production to Poland.
Cadbury plans to shut its Somerset factory by 2010, with the loss of 500 jobs, while 200 more would go in Bournville where chocolate has been made for almost 130 years.
