KEY POINTS:
MELBOURNE - Former Ansett employees were given a shot in the arm yesterday, with administrators of the crippled airline releasing a A$27 million ($31 million) dividend.
The seventh dividend brings the amount paid to Ansett's 15,000 former employees to A$666.9 million.
Administrators Mark Korda and Mark Mentha said the dividend was being paid after A$22 million of assets, including an aircraft and aircraft parts, had been sold.
Korda said the dividend represented 15 per cent of each employee's outstanding entitlements.
"It is an average of A$1700 per employee, with some employees receiving more than A$17,000," he said.
The seventh dividend brings the amount paid to former employees by the administrators to A$132.5 million for 2006.
Ansett still has to sell 217,000 items and two remaining properties.
Korda said he expected former employees to receive more than A90c in the dollar in entitlements owed to them.
