China's economy surges ahead

China has released figures that show its economy is continuing to grow at a rapid speed.

The economy grew by 11.1 per cent in the first three months of the year, compared to last year.

That growth was fuelled by investment and big projects like new roads and power stations.

China's economic growth is proving unstoppable, despite the communist leadership's attempts to slow things down.

The worry is that the economy is growing too fast and that with so much money pouring into the country, investment is being made in the wrong areas.

China's leadership fears that the economic boom will not be sustainable over the long term.
