What's about to unfold today in the world of business and economics?
1. Maori awards
The Aotearoa New Zealand Maori Business Leaders Awards will be announced in Auckland later today. Auckland University's gala event is being held in a marquee on the grounds of Old Government House on the corner of Princes St and Waterloo Quadrant in Auckland.
2. Rotorua conference
This is the fourth and final day of the Trenz tourism conference in Rotorua. The event has attracted more than 350 tourism and trade buyers from 28 countries.
3. Retail info
March quarter retail sales data is due out today. As Craig's Mark Lister says: "Retail sales for the December quarter were strong, with the total volume of retail sales up 1.2 per cent and the total value increasing by 1.2 per cent. This week's report will provide further insights into how the sector faired in early 2016."
4. Dollar
Watch the kiwi dollar which has been down lately against all major currencies except the Australian dollar. Across the Tasman, the dollar is down after rate cuts and low inflation there.
5. US news
In the United States, retail sales and consumer sentiment data is due to be released today.
