English sisters Faye and Lucy Gould are surprised at the poor condition of the mini van they have hired for their three-week tour of New Zealand.
The Southampton-based sisters are travelling the world and paid $900 for the Toyota Hi-Ace.
It has a leaky driver's side window, none of the doors shut properly and the back window demister doesn't work.
There was no fridge in the van and they were concerned about using the gas bottle cooker so they hadn't.
"It's the little things like that when you pick it up you don't notice," Faye said.
They are worried the company could charge them for any damage, so will point out the damage was there on hiring.
"The contract was about three pages in teeny-tiny writing and you sign your life away without understanding what you're signing," Faye said.
