Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld has reopened two of its so-called 'Big Nine' thrill rides.
The Pandamonium and Mick Doohan's Motocoaster rides are back online almost two months after a fatal accident claimed the lives of four guests on the Thunder River Rapids ride.
The remaining seven thrill rides - including the Claw, BuzzSaw and Tower of Terror II - remain closed as Dreamworld continues an internal and external safety review of every attraction in the park.
Australia's biggest theme park reopened on December 10, more than six weeks after the fatal incident that killed four visitors and left two children without a mother on October 25.
Deputy Mayor of the City of Gold Coast, Donna Gates, said at the reopening the closure had hit the people of the region hard both emotionally and economically. "None of us will ever forget the tragedy of six weeks ago," she said. "None of us imagine how deeply affected we would be."
