Directors' Institute gets sponsor

The Auckland branch of the Institute of Directors has a new sponsor - law firm Lowndes Associates.

Partner Mark Lowndes said the decision to sponsor the IoD was a straightforward one for his firm.

"One activity which we see as particularly valuable", he said, "is the aspiring directors' lunch series."

These lunches will see senior company directors from the branch committee and Lowndes Associates facilitating discussions on topics affecting aspiring directors.

These include corporate governance, problem-solving at board level, the role of directors and legal issues affecting directors.

The next one, on Monday November 16, already has a waiting list.
