DB not bidding for Independent Distillers

DB Breweries has ruled itself out of the running for the late Michael Erceg's Independent Distillers.

The liquor business - which is expected to fetch between $700 million and $1 billion - is formally up for sale.

But DB chief executive Brian Blake said yesterday his company was not bidding in the process which is tipped to include Lion Nathan and Foster's.
