AAMI Insurance has been forced to pull and replace one of its advertisements after complaints from customers who even suggested the advertising team be "retrenched".
In a post on their company Facebook page, AAMI informed customers that it had changed its advertisement featuring a young girl playing an ear-piercing recorder in the back seat of her parents' car when it broke down.
The company acknowledged it had listened to the customer feedback and had decided to air a different version of the ad.
The revised advertisement shows the young girl playing her recorder, but with a sweeter, less annoying sound.
In its Facebook post, the company stated: "A sincere 'Thanks' to everyone who took the time to let us know what you thought about our latest ad (even those Tweets suggesting our ad team be retrenched #Gulp."
