ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) Workers at Croatia's Zagreb Airport have gone on strike forcing the cancellation of all commercial flights.
The airport staff launched the two-day strike Thursday in protest over a concession deal that the management signed last year with a consortium led by Aeroports de Paris.
The unions want guarantees that the new management will honor labor contracts that envisage no job losses for five years.
Under the deal, ZAIC or Zagreb Airport International Company will build a new terminal and operate the airport for the next 30 years.
Some 60 flights were cancelled on Thursday, and passengers were offered bus transfer to other airports in Croatia and neighboring Slovenia. The losses are estimated at more than 100,000 euros per day.
