The Computer Society has named Douglas White its new chief executive officer.
White, from Auckland, will co-ordinate the society's office in Wellington and lead its effort to improve the delivery of ICT services by individuals and organisations.
White would help the society become "comparable with the established societies that are the watchdogs of their professional practitioners in other vital areas such as accounting, engineering, law and medicine", the society said.
White, 58, has been a member of the society since 1970. He chairs software producer XSOL.
