Mr Wesley will stay on at Turners "until such time as a suitable replacement has been found," the statement said.
Mr Wesley had been with Turners since 1996 and oversaw the company's listing on the stock exchange in 2002.
For the half year to June Turners posted a record half year profit of $3.59 million, up 12.8 per cent on the same period the previous year.
Shares in the company closed yesterday at $4.15, having ranged between $2.16 and $5.30 over the past 12 months.
