Waste Management chief executive Kim Ellis believes today's shareholder meeting in Auckland to approve the controversial "amalgamation" with Transpacific is a done deal.
"I have no doubt at all that it's going to succeed. It's such a good deal and everyone is saying it is," said Ellis.
Institutions had been "snarling and biting" about it but were coming to the party.
Some fireworks can be expected at the meeting scheduled for 10am although fund managers said they would "play it by ear".
