Tourism companies are more optimistic about demand amid expectations a global economic recovery will bolster arrivals, according to a survey.
About 49 per cent of companies say demand will rise in the next three months, up from 44 per cent in a survey in September, according to a report published by the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Industry Association.
About 32 per cent of the 606 respondents expect a decline in demand, down from 41 per cent a month earlier.
Optimists exceeded pessimists for the second straight month.
