KEY POINTS:
Tourism Holdings' chief executive, Trevor, Hall is to leave the business after three years in the top spot.
The listed tourism operator, owner of the Waitomo Caves, yesterday announced Hall would finish his term at the end of the year, although he will stay on with the company until March to help with the handover.
Chief operating officer Grant Webster will move up to chief executive.
Hall said he had decided to step down to pursue the management of family business interests overseas.
"I would not be able to remain in a full-time CEO role for the next 12 to 18 months given this time commitment, and in particular the requirement for extended periods of time outside New Zealand," he said.
Webster has been with Tourism Holdings (THL) for three years, leading the attractions and tourism leisure group. Chairman Keith Smith said Webster had performed strongly in his role and played an integral part in the recent reshaping of the group.
"We are very confident that Tourism Holdings will continue to make strong progress under his leadership.
THL's share price closed unchanged at $1.35.
