KEY POINTS:
Southern Travel Holdings today reported its June year net profit rose 2.8 per cent to $514,000.
Operating revenue fell 16 per cent to $28.6m and the operating surplus fell 6.2 per cent to $747,000.
No final dividend was declared.
The company said given the continuing decline of Japanese visitors to both Australia and New Zealand the result was commendable.
The company last month bought Walshe Group of travel companies.
Southern's shares last traded at 45 cents. They have traded between 32 and 48 cents in the last year.
