Christchurch has jumped six spots to be the 14th most popular destination for Australians, according to travel site Skyscanner.
The city received 15 per cent more bookings this year, the Daily Mail reported.
Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City was the fastest-growing destination, with bookings up by 23 per cent and the city rising eight places to be the 13th ranked destination.
Bali, which had seen the eruption of the Mount Agung volcano, remained the most popular choice with 4 per cent more Australian visitors, the Daily Mail reported.
London was placed second, although it had 24 per cent fewer bookings.
