KEY POINTS:
International visitor spend was almost flat in the year to March 2007 rising by just 0.2 per cent to $6.291 million, latest tourism figures show.
China visitor spend grew the most - up 38.1 per cent to $93 million, followed by the US up 12.7 per cent to $82 million and South Korea up 23.9 per cent to $61 million.
The amount spent by British and Australian tourists was down by 19.5 per cent and 4 per cent respectively.
The average amount spent per person was $2829 - down 1.5 per cent on the previous year.
