XT outages claims rejected

Telecom last night denied major problems with its XT network, despite reports from around the country to the contrary.

A Hastings reader told nzherald.co.nz he had been unable to send or receive text messages since about 4pm, and phone calls kept disconnecting.

The same had happened to friends in Wellington and Invercargill.

Stuff.co.nz reported it, too, had received emails from XT customers experiencing problems.

But Telecom spokesman Mark Watts said it had experienced no such outages.

The XT network suffered major trouble in December and last month.
