Woosh is making a play for the hotly-contested broadband market with the launch of a prepaid broadband service.
Called "Woosh in a box", the product includes six months of wired broadband access and a broadband modem.
Woosh marketing director Nick Clarke said it catered for the consumers who found broadband complicated and difficult to comprehend and purchase.
The Government announced in May that it would force Telecom to break open its network to competitors which has caused an increase in competition among internet service companies.
The box designed for individuals costs $249.95 and includes a free connection, broadband modem suitable for one computer and six months of prepaid broadband access. The box designed for a family costs $349.95 and comes with a 4-port Wifi router, free connection and six months of prepaid wired broadband access.
