Customers can now download whole books from the Whitcoulls website, to be read on their personal devices such as iPhones, BlackBerrys, PCs or laptops.
Managing Director Peter Kalan says two million book titles are on the new database and they are value for money. He says the cost of downloading most books will be between $12 and $19.
Kalan thinks the concept will catch on quickly, as New Zealanders are avid readers and early adopters of new technology.
