Vodafone staffing ties span Tasman

Vodafone has introduced a PeopleSoft 8.3 human resources management system across Australia and New Zealand, integrating data and operations for both countries.

Vodafone NZ human resources director Jan Mottram said it was easier to manage and transfer people using a common set of processes.

The PeopleSoft system meant that more than 3000 staff could see online what information the company held on them, apply for leave, training or different jobs within Vodafone, check their superannuation plans, and change contact details.

"It also gives managers a view of the talent across the company. We can accurately track compensation and benefits to ensure our packages are market-competitive.

"We will also be able to shift to self-paced learning, with the integration eventually of sophisticated online training programmes."

Vodafone is also introducing PeopleSoft payroll modules in both countries.
