Multinational conglomerate Tyco has signed a communications contract with Telecom covering almost all its New Zealand telecommunications service requirements, including voice, data and mobile.
Telecom said the contract, for three years with two one-year rollovers, could be worth more than $5 million annually.
Companies covered include Armourguard, Wormald, ADT, Tyco Healthcare, Climatech airconditioning, Fuelquip and contractor Tyco Electrical Services, spanning 78 locations and 3000 staff.
A key aspect of the contract is providing connectivity to more than 80,000 alarms nationwide.
Tyco managing director Ian Milne said the company wanted to improve the way its field service force worked.
"We are in the process of developing and implementing mobile service applications for our workforce and we believe Telecom's approach to the partnership will fast-track this initiative."
