Some TelstraClear customers are without email and web services after a technical problem hit the network yesterday, but the company expects to restore service today without the loss of customer emails.
Customers have been unable to access Paradise and ClearNet email services since yesterday.
TelstraClear says it is focused on "restoring services as soon as possible" and that staff had worked through the night to fix it.
"The focus has been on restoring email as soon as possible without losing customer emails," TelstraClear said in a statement.
"We anticipate no customer emails would have been lost as a result of the outage, however we cannot confirm this until all email servers are restored."
It has advised that call centres are experiencing heavy demand and asks that unless queries are urgent, they "kindly call back another time".
Many customers should now have email back and the company expects that all email and web services will be working "later today".
The company yesterday said it had 'lost contact' with its email servers and advised customers against changing their passwords should they be having problems.
"Currently customers may be experiencing a loss of service to their internet connections," read earlier online statement yesterday.
"This also appears to be affecting Webmail and outlook access to e-mails," it continued. "Customers will also be unable to access usage meters and other self service options. We are aware and working to resolve this issue as soon as possible."
Some users reported the email service resuming late last night - although it was only working briefly.
Attempts to access the company's websites this morning are being met with time out and similar error messages, although its promotional warpspeed.co.nz site with its optimistic banner message 'Feet up, Mr Joyce, ultra fast broadband is already here' was working, albeit slowly.
